Acromioclavicular Joint Injuries

These can result from falling on to the tip of the shoulder or on to an outstretched hand. Overhead activities are usually associated with pain as are lifting and pushing activities. The shoulder responds to this with dysfunctional movement and stiffness and can lead to secondary problems within the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint itself.

Physiotherapy involving AC joint and glenohumeral joint mobilisations can help restore function thereby reducing pain.
