Shoulder Dislocation
This usually occurs with traumatic incidents such as falls or sporting accidents. Once occurred you are at risk of recurrent dislocations or subluxations (minor dislocations).
Pre and Post dislocation diagrams.
Occasionally dislocation can occur with certain arm positions if your shoulder joint is hypermobile.
In either case physiotherapy is required to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles to help keep the ball of the shoulder joint in the socket. Leeds Shoulder Clinic will also be able to offer an expert opinion on your rehabilitation with this condition.
